Is that just for the better continentals ,What about the native crosses any news on themSuckled calves a decent trade at Rugby. Better than a lot probably expected.
Which ones did you buy?I bought cattle out of Carlisle last Wednesday and if I can't make money on them I'm going to through in the towel. To be quite honest I was nearly going to give them up this backend if they had been the same price as last year, with the feed been 25% more

It did help that Bally boy wasn't thereThey won’t be cheap next week now
Hell of a trade you had by the sounds of it, Bulled everything to Lim here this year, Hopefully improve things a bitIn all honesty that's only really based in the continentals. Rugby's suckled calf sale has very few native cattle in, certainly not enough runs that you could call a trade on. Our best 7 month lim heifers were up to £960 and £970. Our lesser lim heifers were £810 -£850. April born lim steer was £900 and had charolais steers up to £910. Overall was £18 back on last year but had more heifers in so not far off really.
They won't be cheap. Very nice cattle credit to youkirkby Stephen suckled calves on monday, can see them being cheap if anybody is looking for a few!View attachment 734426 View attachment 734428

thankyouVery nice cattle. Good luck for Monday
I can never weigh that upSuckler have been the trade of the season this year, they,ve been making as much as 18 month old short keep cattle
Sucklerbred 18mth old cattle are making £1200+ and although a few sucklerbred weanlings have made fantastic money the national average for them would be a long way from £1200+. Sennybridge last week steer av was less than £800 and hfr av was in the £600's.Suckler have been the trade of the season this year, they,ve been making as much as 18 month old short keep cattle
More expensive than they have been, didnt see any sold but from a good source.Stirks were a 2 teir trade with very little in the middle, suckler bred good size for age Charolais not much cheaper than 12 mths ago.Native/FH were very cheap unless exceptional.Im sure GUTH will be along with a full report shortly...What were baby calves trade like at sedgemoor today?
