Sedgemore today!

Store cattle,

Numbers desperately short at only 465 head penned sold to a very strong trade and well up on previous weeks to top out at £1270 head, other prices of note strong BBX steers around the £1100 mark and 450 ish kilo char steers £900+, plenty of feeding heifers in the £800+ range, all cattle looked very well sold compared to the prime price!

Stirks

Again a desperately short entry of only 246 head penned sold to a top of £820 head for some superb well bred char bred suckler bred steers, plenty of others with the same comments sold between £780 and £820 head, heifers of the same comments up/down £600 head, trade overall for 2nd grade and dairy cattle would have been slightly back on last weeks red hot trade.

Store lambs

A super entry of some 2769 head penned sold to a top of £95 head, noticeable that there were a lot less buyers around the pens today compared to previous weeks.

....................................

And don't forget the premier event of the year aka : The South West winter fair is being held at the centre on Monday, an event not to be missed!

Is there a market in the country with a more up and down cattle trade than sedge.!!!?
No offence, either that or its your reports lol!
One week, the trade is absolutely crap/the arse is falling out the job/ the sun might not rise tomorrow etc!,
The next Sat and the trade is excellent , the job is a flyer etc..
It would certainly pay to go on the correct week, be that a seller one week and the buyer the next...!

Carmarthen mart is just like that, up and down like tower bridge.

The problem is we don't go every week so it's like playing Russian roulette
