Out of interest @Kiwi Pete why are some of the bulls levied at dairy levy price?

Dave, it's a good question, I'm not 100% sure why they do that with friesian bulls.
I suppose technically they are a dairy breed, for beef, so they put 'a bob each way'??
That's how they get their funding so I suppose this means both groups get a cut

Yes it is, I worked there from 99 thru 2003 , 2006-07, and again a couple of years back, they seem to have new things happening all the time but the beefhouse is much upgraded now.
My last season there was on the sticking table, either shackling them onto the chain or going through the necks and spinals (with my special blue knife for spinal material) so I had every bloody UK supermarket buyer around, looking over my shoulder at audit time

Certainly they pump them through! Dayshift is running at 408 and nightshift not far off starting up

Saw some lambs sold in holsworthy today most of the 44-46kgs over £2 but only saw two rolls sold. Thought it looked a good trade tho.

Good sale in ruthin yesterday. Sale average was over £1.90 but not exactly sure what it was. I averaged £1.94.

Bloody wet on store lambs , no end on good keep/roots just eating to standstill/maintain body weight. Weather must be putting the store lamb buyers off surely. Never known a year for sheep jigging fields so bad.

I was selling Gittens pulled one out.........the git.That cost me £11.Absolutely nowt wrong with it,and just the same as the others in the group. Thats the trouble with Longtown,once the farmer buyers dry up,the big dealer buyers take the p!ss.
