The latest 400 arrived at 2am this morning. Looked well coming off the lorry and I've just been around them and they look champion. As long as they are heathy lambs I would think you have a good chance of making money on them.
I always keep a small group of very small lambs that aren't worth selling with the late lambers for the winter and it amazing how much they make in may, once I take there coats off they look smart and still weigh handy weights.
Around here the big well bred lambs (£75 - £80) don't seem all that dear when they are easy making £95 - £100 killed 4 weeks later. But the small badly bred lambs seem to be making £65 - £70 look very dear. Those badly bred Texel's out of mules never get much weigh IMO and seem just to be getting woollier.
That was my thoughts let them and come to bid not dictate a priceFirms would all have to turn up to bid wouldnt they if they didnt get enough going dead
Those mule ewe lmb boys spending some big money on replacements and blue Leicester tups in the next few weeks.
