Read my post again- they're done in a separate "room"Different rules for different abattoirs or laid back vets, if clipping on the line takes place there are particles of 5hit, wool, dust, sawdust, straw etc flying in all directions including the exposed throat area, particles are also spread throughout the slaughterhall via the extraction system causing contamination.
Furthermore, bits of wool and clippings drop onto the slaughterhall floor increasing contamination risks, and stick to the grease on the rail system. Finally at the pelt removal point the offcuts of wool fly onto nearby carcasses increasing risks of cross contamination.
As with anything in farming, the rules can be interpreted as the official who holds the clipboard wishes.
no denying they were scruffy. Dipped well over a thousand for scab before Christmas. As usual some lose jackets quick, some slow. Normally would take them home shear and put inside. But the trade they are they can go straight off turnips!! Luckily buyers want what’s underneath the scruffy jackets!Just seen SJD sell your hoggs,You will still be smiling this time next week! BTW they were scruffy twits
