Seems no logic in farmers buying. Ewes and lambs have been £80/£100 a life when there been no grass, now it’s starting to grow they have struggled to get £75!
Im not in the sheep job but these "cheap ewes and lambs" are hardy hill bred things arent they with lambs that will not fetch the top prices when fat ,and its getting late, by the time they are fat there will be rucks about or you will have to keep them and sell as stores? True or false?

When has there ever been logic too farmers buying?? 😂 put the lambs at £60 come 1st August and the hoggs as shearlings at £155 allowing £15 costs from now till then. I can’t see me buying good suckled shearlings for that if the job carries on. I can see tupping lambs being £150-£175

Hoggs and lambs never seem a bad buy, at least you are buying a ewe that you will know will do the job.

I would but I can’t make Suffolk mules last past 3 crop here. I’ve given up on them now. Shame because they have loads of quality lambs for the time they are here!! 😔
Love a Suffolk mule just can’t buy the f**kers cheap enough 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ I hope the prices for ewe hoggs on sell my livestock and Facebook are just dreamers or I’ll be seriously regretting not buying hoggs with lambs at foot when it comes to buying time next month 🤦‍♂️😭

I see there is a big packet of sheared mule hoggs on FB at £180. They would be £130-£150 in market. No more
