On the subject of Angus I saw this shining example of the breed and it reminded me of a certain picture.... talk about life imitating artI notice you didn’t deny that Angus breeders settle disputes via all out clan warfare with associated bagpipes though...
I’m glad you posted this! I was wondering who I could ask what trade had done. What grade of texel hoggs were they??Leek ewes and lambs looked a decent trade for what was a typical Leek entry.
Lean older mule ewes £50/60 life. Stronger better bred sorts £60/75
Tex x hoggs and singles £100/105 life
Yeh,2 blue bulls in carlisle today, bloody good bulls, 18k & 30k both Johnes grade5 (as in grade1 is best) ya pays ya money ya take yer chance?????Farmers say they want high health bulls, but something comes into the ring with a bit of arse, stretch and style and they bid anyways. It’s a bit like consumers wanting high welfare, organic this and that, they do until they get to the till.
Cattle I split between 2, lambs send to dawndo many people shop around with deadweight selling or generally stay loyal to one firm?
John’s test grade CAN mean nothing if they’ve had a pre test before the proper oneYeh,2 blue bulls in carlisle today, bloody good bulls, 18k & 30k both Johnes grade5 (as in grade1 is best) ya pays ya money ya take yer chance?????

Cheers, I tend to stick with one but seems to have been a few reasonably sized price differences lately according to this thread.1 firm for me but I know a few that send to 2-3 different places
Loyalty means nothing in this worldCheers, I tend to stick with one but seems to have been a few reasonably sized price differences lately according to this thread.
One firm for medo many people shop around with deadweight selling or generally stay loyal to one firm?
Some are haulage included which for me is 15p/kg as I send some on contract so I know how much the haulage costs as I pay it on those. Some have a standard grid with flat rate up to 4L. Some trim more, other’s contain 5th quarter etc apparently. Only ever sent to 1 place.Cheers, I tend to stick with one but seems to have been a few reasonably sized price differences lately according to this thread.

Johnes Level 5 is given to herds that don't test .So it is possible they came from a herd that has never had it, where as a level 1 has had 3 consequtive clear tests.Yeh,2 blue bulls in carlisle today, bloody good bulls, 18k & 30k both Johnes grade5 (as in grade1 is best) ya pays ya money ya take yer chance?????
