Its just nice to watch when stuffs a good trade, this is usually the glut when jobs sticky...how many years did we have to take 40 pund a lamb for, just seen mules £111.50

DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (October 6th) sold 1,009 weaned calves at their first annual district ballot show and sale.
The show champion sponsored by Iain MacEachen Haulage Ltd and judged by Mr Cameron MacIver, Easter Strath of Auchterflow was awarded to a 260kg 7 month old Limousin cross from Mr D MacLean, 4 Bualnaluib, Aultbea realising £1,060. The reserve champion was a 310kg 8 month old Limousin cross from Mr I Grant, Seaview Cottage, Gairloch which realised £900.
Bullocks (535) averaged 288.9p (last year 262.4p) and sold to 409.8p per kg for a 205kg Charolais cross from Guisachan Farm, Cannich and £1,180 gross for a 545kg Limousin cross from 2 Coast, Inverasdale.
Heifers (468) averaged 260.9p (last year 246.9p) and sold to 354.0p per kg for a 226kg Simmental cross from Dunlichity Farm, Farr and £1,180 gross for a 360kg Limousin cross from 4 Bualnaluib, Aultbea.
Young Bulls (6) averaged 241.3p (last year 214.4p) and sold to 293.8p per kg for a 470kg Beef Shorthorn from Keppoch Farm, Dundonnell and £740 gross for a 350kg Aberdeen Angus cross from Strathaird Farms, Broadford.

That's a pen of twelve peas in a pod, out of a total of 370 store calves from the same seller. Fantastic sight to see, and a credit to the farmer.

Sometimes a bit of credit can gain a lot of leverage

It probably does, but paying on the day and getting £3 'discount' back in the thousand is a massive incentive for me. But then I'm pretty certain that the people that I have bought for are going to pay pretty quick, prime stock auction buyers for some firms might not be so sure.

They should grow into good sorts of sheep. I’ve just looked at the report. We’ve had loads of sheep of the Taylor boys over the last few years. Proper old fashioned sheep still.

I bought 50 off them for my own flock, they look good back home and should be some good ewes.

On Tuesday night Monty had police at KS at start of store lambs and start of the fat lambs, before he started selling fat lambs he said " right you lot no funny business down that alley tonight, no arguing with me or among yourselves, all play together nicely, iv'e got the police here tonight to sort you all out"

Competition as well. Only 6 fat buyer but probably 12 store ones.

of corse they where good lambs, I only have good sheep. Had some welsh cross Suffolk twins that made £80. I left my very small lambs at home but should have gone back to get them.
