No, but he will be paying a mortgage on a decent house, driving a smart car and taking the family on a couple of holidays a year without working silly hours. Working silly hours for yourself is one thing but mixing it with employment is another, I hope you don't have or cause an accident as a result of tiredness.
I don’t know 🤷‍♀️ I don’t work silly hrs although I did leave the house at 4.30 this morning 😂 it’s the tied ness that gets me can’t do much at all in winter months.

Tbf though if you want something in life you have to work your guts out at some point to get it. Athletes push themselves to the point of collapse and train before and after work etc and they dont get told theres more to life. I know plenty of couples who work fulltime but have 300-400 ewes and just take holiday for lambing etc. Depends what you want out of life. Farmers shouldnt be doing it to produce cheap food but its good if their trying to save for something and have an end goal.

It's finding the right balance in your life and trying to know when your over doing it.
I would say push hard in your 20s & early 30s to get house / land but have plan to slow down by 40 & have some years enjoying what you've achieved.

Too be honest, if I had a full time job outside of farming the last thing I’d want was any number of livestock. 10/15 suckler cows and a bull would probably be my limit. they take up every single second if you let them. But it’s what you’re happy with! It’s our lives, we only get one shot so make it a happy one!
Although my happiness is being tested this morning by the black cow that managed too get her water trough off the wall overnight and has flooded 3 calving pens. 😒

It’s things like that that can ruin a day productivity wise 🤦🏻‍♂️

I lifted a 1000m run of triple strand last week on a road boundary so a fencing contractor can fence it. He phoned this morning saying the conrods have gone through the top of the engine on his telehandler on the post knocker 🤦🏻‍♂️ Gonna have to put the wire back up next week to put ewes back in there
