That ait got a clue what they are talking about non of em...they just waffle on
Never known a gov change with the wind like this lot , not got a clue on direction , one minute it's trees all over the place, then its rewinding wilderness sh!t , then its get rid of ruminants cos of ' green housegas' 🙄,

Now todays turn on a sixpence is backing food grown here, oh what a novel idea 🙄....
Why don't they just F/O and don't interfere would be a better policy !

As if any one is going to believe anything they come up with now anyway .

This is the the venture capitalist debt borrowed to buy Morrison’s that they are now struggling to service. Sell and lease back is always the first step these firms take when they begin to asset strip. Morrison’s owned all their stores, the only supermarket that does, the major part of their sale value. I just wonder what that value will be now, surely commercial property is dropping the amount that is being given up due to work from home etc.
Yes commercial property has been pretty flat for a while now.
The bit I picked up on was their comment about the ‘difficult trading conditions’ which often comes back to us all this when others eg Tesco make record profits and their debt was there long before now

- Food strategy for England will back farmers, Boris Johnson says
That's all very well, him saying that, but time and time again he has been proved to be a liar who will say anything to court popularity and then do something that turns out to be the opposite.

I wouldn't trust any politician any further than I could throw them and I wouldn't trust BJ at all.

Lot of money sloshing around for the right product. 25yrs to Morrisons would be pretty attractive to the big boys I would think. As you say, they all do it already, makes a lot of sense in many respects, so long as the proceeds aren't squandered!!

Let them starve….fuk them
Thats the problem with us farmers, we moan we are price takers but we arent ruthless enough business people who realise what power we hold. On the other hand the government should realise we dont want to be ruthless and hold the country to ransom like s.hitty unions etc. We just want fair prices to earn a living without all the bullsh.it

Thats is fooked then , more interference form idiots that have no idea what they are doing .
Talk talk talk, it’s an eye catching headline for the public that’s meant to keep the farming community at bay. As with most of the policies Boris throws out, there is no meat on the bones and he will be out of power before anything is done and so the cycle goes on.
The reality is BPS support is in rapid decline with no replacement or sensible support for our sector.

The inevitable just takes time!

Market conditions, falling market share, increasing interest rates were never factored in when the bidding war was taking place.

I said at the time Woodheads are doomed! Any executive worth their salary would be rid of any involvement with food production.

Screw the farmers, we have debt to service.

I had a feeling there was something afoot behind closed doors over a year ago when Joe Mannion, their top man suddenly left Woodheads and went to be 2nd in command at Buitelaar. Considering how tied in with each other they are, unless they all knew something I couldn’t see how that would end amicably and it did. They all knew what would come long term

Does anyone know what's happening to Woodheads slaughterhouse at Turriff.

It would have processed a lot of beef/lamb from NE Scotland. Be a big loss if it was to shut permanently
