I think @Nithsdale Farmer's neighbour has got his wires crossed. The place was always cattle only when I worked in Ayrshire 20 years ago but it has changed hands since, I think?


Do they have another facility where they could take lambs?

I'll ask my neighbour again but it's Highland Meats he keeps quoting for lamb prices 🤷🏻‍♂️


We used to send cattle to Saltcoats - you'd be there at the time! And i agree it was definitely cattle only back then


EDIT; A quick Google - Highland Meats Saltcoats are part of Dunbia... this might explain things.

George who buys for highland gets some lambs for another dunbia plant told me last day he was in
 
Was that, AA from Yorkshire and RB from Aberdeen, must have been top lmbs, probably not much grass either place, but l had some yesterday and it was a guy from cupar that dought mine, said he had loads of foggage.
Had two pens of texels at UA stirling store sale on Monday first pen 43 kg £107 second pen 39 kg £95.50 one lot to Aberdeen one lot to Yorkshire
