And where you going to find decent Half Breds nowadays?
Lairg ? up in your neck of the woods. Ross Bros still bring a few down to St Boswells. I dont know why the North Cheviot men dont go back to the Border. Make more money than a Cheviot Mule and twice the sheep. Ewe lambs averaged over £200 last two years.

No Half breds at Lairg. Would have been Quoybrae, Caithness. There are very few left breeding proper HalfBreds now off park Cheviots. Most last August sale would have gone to Ross 's or Sleigh's. Most folks seem to think they are too big. Probably things will go full circle, but there are not that many true Park Cheviots to breed them from left. BL on to Hill Cheviot just don't work.

It will all end in tears.
At some point the beef drop will crash there is no doubt about that,

But the above might happen in 2 months or 2 years but it will at some point!

Look at the milk drop, current highest price ever of around 50ppl and this week one milk buyer has cut that price 10ppl overnight by announcing next month down 3ppl and the next month 7ppl so taking it back to 40ppl and it will go down more than that most likely.
