Brave or stupid? Some people are still buying them
Not so long ago would be glad of that for a cull cowEwe trade red hot as well with a top of £338 head
Price of cull ewes I couldn’t be arsed to go and buy lambs to put on them.On the orphan lambs,
Last week at Exeter the top price was £86 head.
Generally at Sedge 10 day old setting on lambs are anywhere between £30 to £50 head with the odd one at £57/8 head.
A lot more people than other years looking for replacement lambs for ewes with people saying they are losing a lot of lambs/ ewes and are getting a lot of problems this year.
People must be nuttier than squirrel sh!t paying £86 for a pet lamb. It’s potentially worth as much as the ewe culled…. You’ll probably get a good store lamb for that money in the autumnOn the orphan lambs,

Hellish thjng that , set on lamb bring mv make a big problem into a massive problem …..Is that shmallembourg distorting the market?

Who knowsBrave or stupid?
Smashed?Exeter smashed the £200 head barrier for hoggs today.
Plenty in the £180s/ 90s head.
Just under 1800 hoggs head penned with at least 50 head coming from Hertfordshire @Shebb90
310 spring lambs penned with plenty over £4 a kilo.
Ewe trade red hot as well with a top of £338 head.
When have all had smash’s that are worth only 50p. Il get me coat now.Smashed?
200.50p
Cracking price, but smashed implies 230 quid.
Thing is we have a bit of ground that runs down from Haytor that has clay under a foot of soil & eventually that clay seam ends up in the clay pits at Kingsteignton, on that particular ground lambs fatten so well with no need for anything else, much of our other ground adjoining the moor is above tin mines & no mater what you feed them they will not fatten & they go white in colour.Saw them this morning, very smart hoggs ,well fed and they did stand out, Don't see blackies of that quality in exeter very often ,must of made you a pound me thinks
Hopefully not , keep the job good another while ..Av £205 for the empty hoggs today. Will there be any breeding gimmers left by the autumn. Serious.
