Is that the one that tried to guilt trip farmers into selling him hoggs worth £210 head for £175 head and also stated you would not see him for dust when the spring lambs come out in numbers and prices drop rapidly??
Someone sorted him out apparently, im
Not sure what the end deal was but hes got some nerve .. week before he was showing off his new machines in the back shop and has just open two new shops , bloody not on .

I’m on a butchers page face book , they are doing some moaning about the price of lambs , fuk them i say they had them for nxt to nowt for decades . Fuk them.
Simple, tell them to grow their own, it's not difficult.....is it?? I fear lamb/Hogg prices at the moment are a mere blip, so they need to suck it up, diversify, cut costs or go do something else instead.

If I don’t turn any cattle out untill June 1st then one of us will be hanging up by a back leg…either me or the cattle
Remember one year must have been early 80's our cows didn't go out till june, they had eaten everything we had including the staddle under the hay bales and some bought in feed, the field they [dairy cows] were turned out to was like mowing grass it was strip grazed and they still trod it so bad that Dad had to reseed it, the lane was like a mud pit walking them in and out and milking took a while just getting the mud off their udders.
There is nothing new,
worst while I have been farming myself was 2012/2013, all in by second week of October and not much back out till May, more or less 7 months

Was talking to a mate the other day he’s a retired butcher, had a butchers shop. I said with the price of lamb at the moment is it any good to the butcher? its just a lost leader he said ,I said but youll double your money then he said oh yeah, but you need to

I was speaking to a fella who runs a butchers in London, he popped up on my Facebook messenger crowing about how much lamb was...I explained it's supply and demand and we are happily taking it after years of prices not keeping up with our inputs. I said due to ever diminishing margins and increased legislation and bureaucracy don't be surprised if it starts getting more of a regular occurrence as livestock are not on farms as they once were. The issue is people have been so used to getting their food for next to nothing, we have lost our market share to the latest technology, tv subscriptions, endless days out etc etc. Is £70 a leg of lamb which will probably give you 7-8 meals too much money? Not really when if you go into any fast food restaurant your spending over a £10 on yourself. One thing we did agree on is supermarkets selling products as a loss leader, it's market manipulation thus should be banned.
