Next week …How often is there a fat mart up there? Surely once a week?
But you only have to keep them til late summer/ tupping. If you replace them that's when they'll be replaced?Yes, but who can afford to have a great ruck of barren ewes running around until next spring? They still eat and need treatments. Better cleared out and replaced.
I’ve had the same discussion with my vet. Suppose if you’d access to a big moor that you could just shear them and Turf them out up there it might not be so bad

YesJust seen on Facebook somebody looking for 100 ewe hoggs suitable for breeding. Messaged them that I had 30 Tex/chev and Rom/chev. Mentioned £200/head. Want's pics, weights and names of hauliers.
Should I sell, if they go for them.
That’s the Welsh mountain in them…Southies are bad tempered more than a lairg.
£200;a bit on the high side for breeders, that's more of a fat price.Just seen on Facebook somebody looking for 100 ewe hoggs suitable for breeding. Messaged them that I had 30 Tex/chev and Rom/chev. Mentioned £200/head. Want's pics, weights and names of hauliers.

I don’t know a lot about it. I was short of a tup last November and went to look at some Texels a friend who was selling up had. I didn’t like the look of them but he was there and I know she was using him over mules and getting similar prices for lambs, quite liked the look of him. He’s 3 shear and she let me have him for £150 so I thought there’s not a lot to lose. I don’t know what the lambs will be like at selling but I’m liking them in this weather, it doesn’t seem to bother themGot bloody horns. Totaly spoils them.
To be honest looks a bit "soothie".
