You look at what is changing land use wise with sfi, there is no two ways it is an industry in decline
The sun will shine soon the ground will dry and the thread will be full of laughter and gayetyIt's just folk tired and run down after lambing time, I used to think I was almost depressed, now I know what it is and am ready for it to come and go. ....as I said the other day, not a time of year to make decisions to jack in or whatever!
maybe there are but a lot of land going back in hand and straight into schemes. Dairy lad I know lost 150 acres of Maize, arable land.I think there are a lot of opportunities out there they just needs looking at in a different way to how things were viewed traditionally. This forum can get quite depressing at times listening to a lot of (sometimes justified, sometimes not) negativity bouncing around. Some people view themselves as farmers and nothing else and so box themselves into a bit of a constrictive mindset. Things change, people adapt and life carries on. I'd never take too much of whats on here to heart, just crack on and do what's best for you!
I always think it’s a good time or year to plan next year’s improvements. It's just folk tired and run down after lambing time, I used to think I was almost depressed, now I know what it is and am ready for it to come and go. ....as I said the other day, not a time of year to make decisions to jack in or whatever!
