2 bloody good bulls in that week!
After over 3 weeks of severe dry weather I’d rather the 26mm we’ve had over the last 48 hours and a few lambs perish which were probably not going to make it anyway@Anymulewilldo Rain will do the grass a power of good. But bitter cold wet lambs isn’t over clever. Plus it mean I get too stay drier!
If a lamb dies, it's the ewe's fault. After over 3 weeks of severe dry weather I’d rather the 26mm we’ve had over the last 48 hours and a few lambs perish which were probably not going to make it anyway
Do you execute ewes on sight if they have a lamb die ? Or do you wait until they’re fit too cullIf a lamb dies, it's the ewe's fault.
His sheep are fit to cull anytime of the yearDo you execute ewes on sight if they have a lamb die ? Or do you wait until they’re fit too cull
You’ve probably got the right attitude…but the wrong attitudeIf a lamb dies, it's the ewe's fault.

Really?
Amazing mother here, lamb was trying to get into water bucket this morning, went passed and saw this. Lamb managed to squeeze through the pallet and was lay behind there (zoom in) View attachment 1026864
Maybe, these were outside but checking the last 40 over 5 mile gets tedious so we shipped them in, plus holiday makers have arrived now and they pick up lambs and disturb mothers lambing so easier to have them in the shed now - and I’m a very anti shed personI lamb outside and interfer as little as possible. Lambing is the ewes job. It's my job to ensure she gets to lambing in the right condition and is in a field with sufficient shelter and feed.
I'll bring in/pen ewes and lambs if needed. But that counts as a failure, that ewe and any ewe lambs are culled marked.
