30 quid a weekHow do you get to £6 ? £3 is maybe not quite enough I would think no more than £4 tho
I'd have a dabble at the red bullock @ £2.79p/kgIt might be the photos but any fat cattle shown on GTH look like strong stores that need another 60-90 days food.
Fair play to you if your feeding three times a dayYou said it’s only buying them breakfast….I don’t know about you but I eat 3 meals a day…
How was tade at skiptonLooking very nice trade, hope it holds
Wonder if they will start piling in with numbers now as week goes on or there's non meated up ready to go
Find out tomorrow....That's my worry
Aye about £25 a piece more would be better …..they’ll need to start mixing old ewes with the cow meat to cheapen it a bitLambs seem to be around 240 which at least is heading the right way. Way off where is needs to be though. Ewes a mixed trade, had some right good bf at £70 thought they’d be a few quid more.
yea sold some pure charollais last weekend thought they would have been nearer 120 , they came back at 99 was disappointed , they were worth another 30+ last nov , fkn processor games , there is no incentive in the job with feed north of £400t and all the catch crops burnt up with frost .Aye about £25 a piece more would be better …..they’ll need to start mixing old ewes with the cow meat to cheapen it a bit
Sedgemoor i guess...the average looked very poor on Satyea sold some pure charollais last weekend thought they would have been nearer 120 , they came back at 99 was disappointed , they were worth another 30+ last nov , fkn processor games , there is no incentive in the job with feed north of £400t and all the catch crops burnt up with frost .
£99 for purebred terminal ewes is very disappointing had £92 for mules last week empty at scanning ......same cut were £117 last year, same weekyea sold some pure charollais last weekend thought they would have been nearer 120 , they came back at 99 was disappointed , they were worth another 30+ last nov , fkn processor games , there is no incentive in the job with feed north of £400t and all the catch crops burnt up with frost .

Sorry my mistake I not only don’t listen correctly …..I obviously don’t read properly anymore eitherI assumed @andybk was talking about lambs, not barren ewes? Bad enough for lambs, but criminal if it was for ewes.
I had £100.50 for 41.5kg Exlanas today, one of which had recently shed in the shed (see what I did there? ), and way way way behind any terminal in terms of meat yield.
I also had a pen of barren Charollais ewes in at £206/hd.
Entry on sat was mostly made up of very poor/small hoggs so the average would be about right!Sedgemoor i guess...the average looked very poor on Sat
How come an Exlana is only 41.5 kgs now, that's less than most of my Beltexes which all the great and wise say are slow growing and they were born in AprilI assumed @andybk was talking about lambs, not barren ewes? Bad enough for lambs, but criminal if it was for ewes.

i was surprised the average was so high the week before tbh going on the entry and what i saw sold.
Good hoggs circa 35 kilos around the £75 mark on Sat!
Local collection centre was swamped with hoggs yesterday even with the current low deadweight price.
