The trouble is that’s why there’s a shortage of proper grazing cattle to buy. Either yearlings or too fit, not enough with the age frame and hard enough.
There not many people graze cattle out for 2 summers now and when they do they feed them either adlib or a bit every day….i still like to graze mine out twice and start feeding them end of August

If anyone appears in the northern marts with stores that are only frame with no condition on them they are always discounted. They are in the minority as well so stand out as worse cattle. If anyone has put some thought into the shape and grade of cattle they will need to feed them to some degree to show their potential. As you rightly say the feeders might well like rough cattle with frame that is because they can get them cheaper
those frame's can take some filling up ;) 🤷‍♂️

Wonder what a Texel hogg with a lamb will be worth on the first of May?

My opinion is sadly wish mine were not in lamb.
