Any word from the Marts this morning?? 🔥💰🔥🤑
Just home from Quoybrae. Sold pretty middling shite 36kgs, £128. A few stores 30ish kg £108.
There was quite a few heavies over £200. A good sale.
It was noticeable that quite few sizable lots of good ewe lambs were sold for more than last years gimmer price.
Real trade was for heavy fleshy sheep. Hoggs, Ewes and Tups.

Hay (20) sold to £20 per bale. “New levels were witnessed today with all classes selling exceptionally well. A new centre record was broken in the prime lamb ring today with the whole sale averaging 348.6p.

I have to add that there were quite a lot of ewe lambs sold Prime, that looked like they had been intended for breeding as double tagged.
There were a lot of over 50kg/60kgs, way more than usual.
