Do you manage to keep their feet right or are you on slats?Put 2 sheep sheds up just before Covid as we were sick of lambing in bad weather. Trailing feed out and watching them paddle silage into the ground and turning the place into a bog! Put 500 twins and trips straight in now after scanning and just leave singles out. Last 2 lambing’s it’s being well worth the cost.
Going to put another shed up this back end as well to run ewes and lambs in or single pens. This morning has tipped me over the edge
8.55 Abp.Any Hogg prices next week?
RKG blend? We used it last year but the bin we were getting it blown into, the nuts hit the back and bounced forward and the barley dropped straight down, first week was all nuts then you were left with just the barley at the end. Good feed tho. That’s off Tarff Valley 16% blend virtually the same stuff 1% higher protein
Yes I’ve been picking it up so it’s coming out mixed ok. They are sorting it a bit in the hoppers but not raking it outRKG blend? With the weather out side at the moment I don't see to much suck lamb coming out any time soon.Anyone like to predict the Hogg price for the end of the month? Will there be enough suck lamb to drop the price?
No on straw. Feet aren’t to bad really with them being handy in buildings there easy to run through the foot bath. Probably done them 3 times since they come in. Plenty of lime down and muck out before they start lambing all helps.Do you manage to keep their feet right or are you on slats?
Hmmm. Hoggs not enjoying it too much either. Have freed up a bit of space and am tempted to shut some in to finish. With the weather out side at the moment I don't see to much suck lamb coming out any time soon.
I was on whole oats and barley for a bit last year they did that you could try to raise the trough a bit or shut the feed down into the troughI’ve got some hoggs on whole oats in hoppers, Jesus there’s half a ton on the floor , raking hoors
Go both ways with hoggs horses for courses as such so a reasonable judge of weights prices. Our hoggs would be equivalent of circa £9 DW for mainly hill bred In market today better sheep would be more. I don't see many sheep on the market next week? Had thought the mythical £10 was off the mark but who knows!!8.55 Abp.

I’ve just got Swales left so I’m happy with the price As markets have just been 3.60-80 for most Swales. If they were all cheviots they would definitely be going live.Go both ways with hoggs horses for courses as such so a reasonable judge of weights prices.
