Thought youd be havin 2 at that price?I was talking to a fabricator the other day about a shed, I said needs to hold 1000 ewes and have individual pens up each side, talking £120,000.
Will never happen

Only blue men can afford them!Thought youd be havin 2 at that price?
yes big costs this year, but god help anyone who has skimped this year! The thing that’s always bothering me is how much weather we are feeding which is very noticeable at the end or after half way through pregnancy
I don’t think they are going to be cheaper kept inside by any means but these sheep still need to perform for us
A year like this makes you wonder what the weather has cost
A fair bit of silage wasted and less efficiency from the cake and liquid and beet
If you've skimped your paying £15 this year!yes big costs this year, but god help anyone who has skimped this year!
Absolutely right thereyes big costs this year, but god help anyone who has skimped this year!
In years when we’ve housed just after Christmas due to weather and land availability by the middle of Feb the ewes are definitely going stale. Need a week of good weather and loose the lot in the bank field behind the buildings. They plod out of the shed the first day and just lie on the bank, by the 3rd day they’re all back chasing the snacker along the bank.I've had a few I think been inside too long, gone wooden somehow
Already used 3t more than last year and had another 10 blown in yesterday. I was saying to the rep it’s a good job these fat sheep are dearer, this has been a very expensive winter in several ways!I intended using less feed but gonna end up more. We've a little bit grass but man the ewes are hungry for cobs after they've lambed, bit surprised really
There's nothing to do inside, get bored, almost as tho they forget to eat!In years when we’ve housed just after Christmas due to weather and land availability by the middle of Feb the ewes are definitely going stale. What sort of liquid feed would you be using and when would you start to feed cakeThere's nothing to do inside, get bored, almost as tho they forget to eat!
And get no exercise.
I could manage housing better after we went on the liquid feed, they licked away at that all day and it kept them right.
Get more prolapse’s if they are in too long as well imo….think it’s the lack of exercise….haven’t had one prolapse this year….probably cos paddling through the clarts they’ve legs like Arnold quartsnigger….i like to house mine when the first one drops a lambThere's nothing to do inside, get bored, almost as tho they forget to eat!
