What's Xclude please? And curious, why centurion max??? Surely you don't have BG and falcon, fusillade shogun ect would do oats, volunteers, couch ect.
Unfortunately I have BG in one field. Imported straw for over wintered parsnips.

Not seen or heard of any; most agronomists are going because it ‘feels about the right time’ on the grapevine round here. I’m carrying on with my zero tolerance policy ie zero tolerance to foliar insecticides irrespective of what I see/hear 🫣

I’m very anti insecticides but if the beet were bad with aphids I’d spray. Can’t afford bad virus yellows ☹️
I know where you’re coming from…if it’s a hard decision; leave a boom section unsprayed; see if you can see it at harvest. It’s the only way to know if it was worthwhile or not 👍

My unsprayed winter cereals have bad bydv this time….. and the first bad beet yellows year my reluctance to spray cost me I’m sure. 😢 it’s expensive to have principles. Not at threshold this year yet though 👍👍

Apologies if I’ve posted this before…that first bad year; I did actually spray. The whole 50ac field was a patchwork of yellow circles; approx 50% coverage come harvest. Beet was scorched on the overlaps. The other block (another 50ac) didn’t get sprayed and had way less infection and yielded more. Conclusions; beneficials were killed; beet was harmed; looking for aphids is a waste of time as I could have sampled the whole field and missed every single one (50% infection = 50% absolutely fine). This is why agro’s just recommend it when it’s about time as a grower will never thank them for not doing so. Added to all that; resistance and even if you do find aphids only a small % will be carrying virus?! Too much of a long shot for me; nothing to do with principles. I’d nuke the bar stewards if I thought I had a fighting chance of doing any good (hence the seed trt). Each to their own though; I respect that everyone is different. I do push my luck an awful lot with beet growing 😂
