What scheam are you getting grant funding from out off interest as I’m looking at getting airator too.
Also has anyone looked/used at the portequip airator. Just seen a advert in FG for them.
Welsh Farm Business Grant. I believe there are similar schemes in England and Scotland.

Is this not now closed though.
I went to a local meeting about that grant but I couldn’t justify going into it as it was only up to 40% and it was a minimum spend off about £8500 as the minimum grant was £3000 if I remember correctly?
And I can’t see aerators on the list ??

Sounds very similar to our scheme, there will be another application window open before long? Aerators are on the list here.

Happy with the Ritchie - I posted this picture elsewhere the other week on here, tines at max 'skew' small concrete weights on top - I have another pair that fill the rack up each side if necessary - not been necessary yet though.

What diameter are the disks?

And how wide are they spaced?

Cheers
Not the best pic. 20" straight disc.
2 axles. Think the parts are from parmitar disc.
So it's front axle disc, 2 x bobin (spacer) disc etc.
Rear same but diffent pattern so not running in line.
But you also have bearings in it.

Was originally used on tractor on golf course slitting and corting holes and blowing compressed air in to aid drainage etc.

what about timing with a grassland subsoiler? Is it purely a spring job or could you do it in autumn? I’m asking as I’ve some wet land that takes an age to dry in spring - if I subsoiled in autumn would that aid drainage or am I barking up wrong tree with that theory?
I would strongly advocate that you should be doing this in the autumn rather than the spring - and have ended up losing contract jobs as a result. Spring subsoiling wont do as good a job as there is still a lot of moisture so the soil doesn't fracture as well, localised damage to grass roots shows up and reduces output and by doing it in the autumn, the ground has chance to settle back naturally rather than be recompacted (which it can do very easily) by stock and machinery through the summer - IMO

Not using the drill?
To direct drill we’d have to leave it a week or two to spray off what’s there and then drill losing time.

It’s a gamble really as I’m hoping to get it dried out a bit today, power harrow to disturb the weeds that are there then get the grass seed in pronto so it can get germinating while the soil and temps are warm.
