Got a krone. Had it for approx 5yrs. Was 5yr old when we had it. Does approx 120 acres of dry haylage a year. Broken a few tines but the machine is still like new. Will upgrade to a 6 rotor next spring, either another krone or a Malone.

How's @neilo getting on with his new Malone?

No complaints at all. Similar hook tines as the Lely but a far stronger headstock. No mucking about turning individual tines for the headland either, just move a lever to change the angle of all wheels at once.

I’d certainly recommend one to anyone looking for a 4 rotor Tedder, but i doubt the OP will find any secondhand yet, unless he happens on someone trading one in for a 6 rotor. Even then, it will be nearly new, so a similar price.

We've a krone 4 rotor tedder (Bought new 2018) and its been a very good machine for a range of jobs from one pass silage to several passes in haylage as well as dealing with wet straw. We really like it and the build quility and strength is superb as we have found with our other krone mower and rake. They tend to be a bit expensive second hand however they have got a very robustly build drive train with the optilink joints which are suppose to ensure the machine lasts mechanically for a long time. The tine arms are also a tubular construction which prevents bending. All baskets are enclosed with liquid grease so no need to grease routinely and they have a few nice features such as manual/hydraulic boarder spread and a pivoting front headstock to aid turning. All in all we find it a really good machine.

I’ve treated myself to a kvernland taarup 8055 this year, does a really nice job & so much better & quicker than the haybob. Seems a strong simple machine
