not sure of year had ours during 1953 (coronation) fullwood with straps over cows backs pot hung under by handle pipe going up to pipeline above parlour with tap to make unit work . just googled it says 1889 plus first pulsating one in 1922

Father and me used to come in on a night often near ten o clock and he pressed the answerphone button and listened to who had called. Only rang back the ones he liked. We are a long way from that now here
I’d important things to do yesterday but mobile was down internet down so had to jump in Landrover to find 4g 10 miles to top of Carter bar under the mast nothjng so another 10 miles to Jedburgh , did what I had to do then 11 miles home , what a feking joke it’s getting third world round here I tell tha !

We still have no coverage over a lot of the farm here. Probably won’t get any for a while as no one lives in that area.

Same here but they make life impossible to
Live without this sh!t today but then don’t provide rural services ! It’s unreal I sometimes waste whole days with this crap it’s like running a business with hands tied behind your back at times .

Yes we have spells like that. We even have a mast here and still no signal to aggregate the situation

A few years ago went to a friends house. Not far from where I live could throw a stone to it. sat in the house having a cup of tea . My phone rings ,what network are you on Voda so am I but I’ve got no service , I’ve got five bars how old is your phone two months old. How old is yours must be 8/ 10 years old and there is your problem old-fashioned device I’m not saying you’ve got an old phone but it’s worth I think. (Apparently the older your phone gets they turn the power signal reception down . )

I was told by a techie nerd that the reason my mobile didn't work, even though there is a new mast about a mile away, was
because the "software architecture" was 2 generations old.
