We have the heniger cordless, had them about 10 yrs and apart from 1 new battery and a couple of services they've been v good, will do about 40 tails on a charge and have 2 batteries. I know there is alot more choice of cordless clippers though now

I used to have an older Heiniger with a NiCad battery, it was absolutely pathetic, broke do all the time. Slung it out and because I had a few Heiniger blade sets I reluctantly bought a Heiniger xplorer. It has been a revelation, powerful , light and reliable. The other day I bought a set of fine blades , as the coarse blades would not trim the hair on brands, fine do it well and wish I had bought fine blades years ago. Recommended (y)

Better deal here.

Thanks for the tip. Bought a set from MVF last week and have just clipped all cattle backs on housing with them. Absolutely brilliant (y), so convenient as a cordless clipper and great battery life. So much easier than the sheep shear handpiece we were using previously. Might be considered a bit of a luxury but certainly made the job a whole lot more ejoyable and less stressful for man and beast.

We've had ours 4 years now and is so much easier than messing about with extension leads along the back of the locking yokes. You'll be surprised how much they get used.
