Thinking of buying one to cross with purebred limousin cows in the hope of easier calving and breeding maternal heifers.

The French farmers I know say that they are good on dry ground. Plenty of them in Cantal, perhaps on slightly harder farms than the Salers. They have a similar reputation for being able to calve Charolais cross calves.
