Best Compact Tractor

Looking for a advice on best compact tractor around 40hp which will be used for looking after 6 acres. 4 acres is a field and 2 acres is garden area. Would be looking to cut the field with a flail. Also need to attach a hedge trimmer so any advice on this would be helpful. Will also need loader and trailer.

Have been to local John Deere and Kubota Dealers.

John Deere dealer has been superb. Have driven a John Deere 2036R and they have offered to bring a 2036R & 3038R to the property. They suggested buying a tractor and Zero turn mower for the garden area as much easier to cut with this than tractor due to trees. The Z540R Zero turn seemed a decent bit of kit on a test around there grounds.

Waiting to hear back from Kubota with prices and what they can get in for me to test drive. The salesman said about L1361 which I think is more comparable to the E models from JD. He also mentioned STW40 which looking online seems comparable to the 3038R.

Would any other brands worth be considering? Is it better to get tractor with or without cab?

Personally I think kubota haven't kept up with the likes of iseki and Kioti in last few years.
Deere will always be a good buy but I don't rate their zero turns. Much better options on that front.

I've got an iseki and a Kubota.
Iseki better built, stronger, they look like ag spec shrunk down .better all round than the Kubota.
Wouldn't have another Kubota.
The latest iseki models are a class act.
I use a finishing mower and round trees isn't a problem .depends on your budget. Trimac are good for amenity, offset flail for rougher areas.
Cab - I find the cabs on compacts to be very noisy right little buzz box my Kubota . Cabs keep weather out ,noise in .the tg6490 is a good call..
Suggest you try to get a demo.
I found iseki to be really helpful 're demos , factory bent overr backwards to get me the right demo .be careful on the seat spec ,I paid extra for an air seat on mine and it's not great . I also find that the relative seating position has a bearing on comfort. The iseki seat is positioned just forward of the rear axle,(good)Kubota right over the rear axle.(very bad)

John Deere zero turns are not good machines . I hate to say that as nearly everything in my yard with an engine is JD ........
.........apart from my mower .

If you are going to get a compact ,unless your doing really awkward tight areas in a smallish garden area , (2 acres of garden isn't small )then a mower on the back of a compact makes more sense , forget about the zero turn .
I do about acre half of amenity/garden with 30 plus trees/ obstacles and get on fine with a compact and finishing mower.

They have a partnership with LS and have been for 10yrs I would think now. And to be fair they go out and we very rarely have to do anything to them, just nice simple compacts, we have schools, councils, contractors allsorts with them
I know new Holland always used to be rebadged shibaura. And possibly mitsubishi aswell??
Just like MF are rebadged iseki

I have an Antonio Carraro Tigre 3200 (as pic on left) for about the same amount of land as the OP. Its only 26hp but its quite happy with the a flail through rough land. Seems well equipped and has a Yanmar engine, so reliable too. They also have 31hp & 38hp versions. There is a loader available for them too.
