Best "inflation proof" farm investments?

Been seeing a couple of articles about the worrying likelihood of a ramping up of inflation before long... Sprog 2 works for a investment and wealth management outfit, and they are spreading investment risk on the basis of an increase.

As anyone over mid 40s will be very aware of, it's not good news... at all!!

So, what is the best place to put a few quid of farming cash to safeguard it medium term, as in not a land purchase sum either! Not sure that my accountant will be overly impressed at my buying bullion?

So stock? Inputs?

It's not real inflation. Scalped holidays, recovering fuel prices, etc. Merely the pentnup demand bounce. The only irration exuberance in in house prices and they will never be curbed. Buy a holiday home on the coast.

Some BoE bods are not agreeing with that! Although I fully understand where you are coming from... but whether it is really a short term event...??

surely sprog 2 has the answers on how to best invest their inheritance...

A nice spread portfolio.... :) They need 100K or something of readies, so WAAAY out of my league, even if we get "family discount" on the management fees!

Inheritance??? A new motorbike...? Possibly a V8 muscle car before they are ostracised or banned off the road!! :)

When folk run out of "investment" options and would rather put money into their houses and "crypto" than actual UK businesses then you know we're fudgeed. Just look at the basket of goods that make up the inflation index to see how nebulous and unnecessary most are.

Cannot agree more...

Trying to explain negative equity to someone who is convinced that house prices ALWAYS go up, is an eyeopener!
