Best laptop

I’m looking for a laptop exclusively for the use of farm management software, really only want to do that with it and perhaps word processing, so needs would be:
Quick
Secure
Plenty capacity
Rugged enough to be taken out and about
WiFi, possibly cellular

Any obvious winners?
Thanks

How much hard drive and ram are considered essential these days? Long time since I looked at a pc
The more the better on both fronts, as much as your budget can stand.

SSD drive for sure on the laptop, though that should be pretty standard these days. I’ve been spec’ing them in my machines since 2010. Now a mature technology. The only place I use spinning drives is the NAS.

I don't think the hard drive capacity is an issue these days, you can guy external drives for next to nothing and anything valuable should be in the cloud now in all honesty.

8GB of RAM is essential with modern versions of windows, browsers and the like.

A hard drive of 256GB should be ample for anyone provided they don't want to begin storing a lot of music or videos or games on them.

Lenovo make some good stuff.

I wonder if ChrisF or similar know the best value 2 in 1 laptop/tablet?

As above the carbon core thinkpad is a great machine is you want a laptop. I’ve had a 2 in 1 yoga for the past 6 years and although it’s still going, it’s very beat up. It you want a tablet, I’d just buy a tablet.

I'm still in two minds about having a machine at all. I generally don't like laptops as I find them ungainly and a pain to use without a decent keyboard and mouse, but I am beginning to think a a tablet with a keyboard and the ability to plug in a mouse as well as write on the thing might be a good idea.

How much is a yoga and can it run MS office. one note and a browser and say a music client?
