Have you tried T Cut it G10 compound but on a machine polisher? Just bought one myself to do some faded red plastic and it’s come up like a new penny. Takes a bit of getting used to and can soon burn through paint if not careful but makes cracking job with a lot less elbow grease (y)

i could be wayyy out here but would the carefull application of a heat gun bring it back to life if its plastic.
ive t-cut and polished with the proper tools, cutting compound and polish before but i found it to be short lived results.
like i say tho, i could be way out on that, google or the tube may bust my idea.

I'd say you're not far off. Works on faded grey stuff.
I have a lot of friends in the car resto scene and a good many of them swear by smearing with peanut butter.
yes I know it sounds ridiculous but google it. You've nowt to lose in any case.

With that, i went digging there to see and sure enough it seems to bring back colour, altho i think that after you have given it the once over with a heat gun you would really need to buff it with something after, it looks like to me that even tho it brings it back from faded it lacks the original shine, which in fairness one mightn't get unless you splash out for a new part but its a big improvement on what it would of been.
there is rarely an easy fix like this in anything in my experience but it looks like its a good starting point at least.
id guess that after the gun goes over it then possibly a t-cut and polish after might help bring up a bit of a shine and protect it going forward.
i dont know how long it would last tho, altho it couldn't be any worse than it id look right now.
the oil in the peanut butter could be the trick there.
