Best sheep drench gun?

ive had a bad day and drench guns has done it. I was using one of the yellow brand in most farm stores, only a couple of months old. Noticed the dose was getting different and suspected under dosing. The bloody gun was faulty, tried everything, blew the hose out, cleaned the gun, no difference. I had two more brand new guns in the wrapper as standby, got them out, not one of them working either. They were both air leaking from the glass bowl. Put the hammer through the three of them I was so mad! I know I shouldn't of, but temper got the better of me. I had an old green gun years old, put that on and it worked straight away.
I just wondered if anyone on here has a good make of drench gun that will last for more than five mins. Everything is disposable these days and plain crap so any advice would be listened too.

I have a German/Austrian made one can remember its name but had it years and has all ways been very reliable I'll look up the name

Could be a Henke gun, there good
All the spares kit available, cost about £50 but very reliable. We have changed to a Powr doser this year, made by genesis in the states. Runs off a 6 ltr compressor, it is as accurate after 2000 lambs as it was at the start. It takes zero effort to use to as no trigger to squeeze just a button to press. It was worth every penny of the £350 in my opinion. I wouldn't choose to go back to a conventional gun.

But the thing you have sounds like a nice price of kit bit dear though but sounds like it's worth every penny if you have the need for it

Zolvix gun is fantastic! Genuinely well designed and I don't think you'll snap the nozzle off too easily like most plastic guns.
comes with two sizes of nozzle.

Only problem is it only goes up to 8-9ml

Also it costs £50...... but to be honest I'd seriously consider buying one (got mine "free" with a zolvix order) if it wasn't for the fact I have a box of new drench guns :D

Agree 100% with this, though the only weak point I've found is the part where the plunger arm attaches to the handle - it can come apart, and once it does so seems to be a bit of a weakness.

Like the idea of a powr doser not sure I like the idea of having to have a generator going!

Having used a Zolvix gun all others feel wrong now. It is so much more natural to dose with the the nozzle at your wrist/pinkie finger from behind the sheep's head than it is to try to dose with a nozzle held like a pistol. I use the lamb nozzle for everything and haven't broke it in 5 years of fairly rough and tumble use and knocking about in the back of the pick-up.

Best I've found is the little plastic red cydectin ones, (know it's meant to be disposable and that's what u are after) but it's easy to squeeze and best for lambs first dose too as small compared to the bloody great big standard ones that's metal bit is bigger than lambs entire mouth!. (Why do they now make them so big! mainly used on little lamb mouths!? One for what grinds your gears maybe)

Had a mole valley £50 odd £ one, Orange? no idea on make, came with fly applicator end too, lasted less than a year glass split that holds wormer from a slight tap against hurdle, was a pain to take apart and clean too. was £20 to fix and as so hard to squeeze doses I gave up with it. so maybe avoid that one.
