New Holland tm 165 bought with 700 hours on the clock now has covered over 12000 it's now due a damper plate but never been into it other than a set of brakes the only tractor you know will start give you a full day hastle free will do any job big or small not to mention the best air con on a tractor we've had. Had several jd and Claas tractors and cant say the same for them.

We had to do the damper plate in a t6030 at 13500 hours. Great tractor done nothing else but find it loud and bumpy now compared to our newer tractors.

Possibly so time moves on and so do tractors I'm sure there's nicer to ride about in than the old tm but as a tractor it's been fab and never caused me any bother I'm looking at what to buy next and to be honest with you there's nothing new that I really fancy with all their ad blue and dodgy electrics

Call me old fashioned [I am], but all I need is 4WD, 6 pot with turbo, simple hydraulics, a simple powershift with mechanical linkage, good AC, a comfortable seat and cab, a decent radio/CD player and that will do. I Just don't see the need for all the electronics which you can't fix yourself. You only have to look in the USA to see what 'vintage' Deeres fetch at auction - 'cos they are reliable, simple and still capable of giving a good days work.

Me - I'd happily sit all day long in a 2294 or even an early Magnum, doing post harvest cultivations.
