Best welding mask

Can't recommend a particular brand, only that you get what you pay for. I made the mistake of replacing a fairly good mask which father left out in the rain, with a cheap one the tractor dealer had on the shelf. I figured the cost of the things had just come down with time, and they would be importing them from China now. The cheap mask is terrible, slow to react to the arc, worse when cold, and the shade doesn't ever seem to be able to adjust to a setting where you can actually see what you are doing.

Probably can't go too far wrong if you go to a proper welding shop and spend at least double of what their cheapest mask costs ;)

Been using one of these from Rtech welding supplies for about 7 years, best thing I ever did is getting an air feed mask for welding and grinding. The amount of debris the filter picks up (especially when grinding) is frightening, when you think you would have been breathing it in!
Flip front is dead handy if switching between welding/grinding, you can also remove the welding part is you just want an air feed mask for dusty jobs. Only ever use my esab mask for tacking stuff up now.
