Big increase in turnover at Charlie's stores but how do they do it

2 weeks ago there was article in local paper how Charlie's stores had increased turnover to nearly 50 million but when I go into Charlie's in Newtown and Coedydinas it is always quiet
Also I hear mixed reports about Service at Charlie's

This shows my ignorance of store chains, I didn't know there was another one besides that in Carmarthen.

Hmm... mixed feelings about the place, it's a bit like Ikea, a lot of rubbish but also some decent stuff reasonably priced, that's according to Mrs Danllan... :nailbiting:

The shop here is fairly busy, or has been when I've been dragged there. Can't comment on its whole stock, but I know its prices for Makita 18V kit are exorbitant. Staff seem rather 'challenged' in the thinking dep't.

Perhaps it has a good location here, with several discount stores around it providing increased footfall? :scratchhead:

Went into Coed y Ddinas store while passing some time before Christmas and the place was absolutely heaving with the main and overflow carparks full up. It was literally one out, one in. For those that don't know it, this is a big store bordering on massive.

Carmarthen is not small either and probably has more parking. Aberystwyth is probably the smallest, but hardly 'small'.

I remember his store down a side street in Aberystwyth last century. He marketed himself and the store as 'Cheap Charleys' back then.

Just what JD want all dealers to do just with JD gear!
Yes, he's become a JD groundscare dealer and has always majored on JD branded merch at the superstores. Sells shedloads of overalls to all the little and big boys who would have big green toys if they could. The footfall must be amazingly high and the stock so diverse that he can't help selling massive amounts of crap/stuff.
I'm wearing trainers from the Aber store as I type this.
