Have been pricing up bulk bins and the above comes out cheaper than most for approx. 15 tonnes capacity. Anyone have any experience with them? I guess my major concern long term is the fact that the filler pipe is also one of the legs?! Filler pipes wear over time and I don’t fancy finding it on its side after a few years

we have a 6 ton one at work there cheap for a reason. We use meal for pig feed and its the dustiest, dirtiness bin going. The 2 other legs act as vents and blow dust all over the floor and yard plus dust blows out the top vent and covers the top of the bin which sticks when wet then after a heavy bit of rain/ wind the wet crap comes off and makes more mess. Also check the volumes of the bins as we find out 6 ton meal bin struggles to hold much over 4.5 tons where as 6 ton collinson bin holds 6.5 tons of the same meal.

Leg wear shouldnt be a problem they are thick steel compared to normal blower pipes on outside of bin, Ff they do wear it will be on the top bend,
Biggest bildabin trouble is no window at the top so driver doesnt know when its nearly full,
Dust shouldnt blow out of the top , maybe the top valve needs checking/cleaning.
We have one bin with a cyclone on the exhaust, works well but at a price, £500 ish, mind you its a 35t bin that sometimes augers out 10tonne a day so thats a lot of dust to catch

We got a Buildabin last year priced it against a Colinson the Colinson was £1500 more plus a 8 week wait. Very happy with it and I will get another 1 when the others are knackered

We have bildabin an Collinsons, Bildabin about 11 years old , it’s wearing ok , it could do do with another site glass higher up.
The chute is a bit cheap and tacky.
The collinson was more money but a far better bin.. would buy another. It’s a tristor.

I’ve had a Bildabin for the last 5 years. Very pleased with it for the price, not that it gets many tons put through it.
Agree with earlier post re:wearing. It will go at the bends before any structural weakness is problematic, and even that will take a good few tons imo (it’s heavier steel than most filling pipes).

As for the lack of sight glasses, is there not an option to have extra ones put in at the time of ordering?:scratchhead: There certainly was when I bought mine.

I’d certainly have another if I was looking for another bin.

do these bins need the mushroom at the top to allow them to breathe? see the hanco ones dont have any ventilation at all aprat from the vent pipe to ground level

Bought this fibreglass bin 2nd hand from a chook farm 13 years ago. It was ten year old then. On the chicken farm it had thousands of tons through it and I expect it has about 60 tons a year with us and not showing signs of wearing out yet.
