When is Guy Smith going then because he won’t answer questions and just says his family is at risk from a terrorist attack so he can’t say anything. The bloke is the Chris Packham of the farming world.
Also when will the Nfu get rid of Minette who’s out of her depth and admit they have no connection to the farmers of this country then we can open up the new farming union at a much cheaper price?
Panorama? Any more detail?Panorama is on the case. I’ve prewarned the Nfu and RT over the last few weeks but they’ve typically been silence.
Seems as though he wants to go the painful way.Yes he's next. Thought he would have gone first actually.
If the housewife knew how RT worked with ridiculous tick boxes made out to prove a premium product wrongly advertised to be traceable all the way back to the specific farm then she would avoid it like the plague. Give her the genuine article that she knows doesn't come from a gravy train, good old fashioned clean UK Quality Grain which farmers have been producing for generations instead of RT low quality just tickboxed stuff.I wish board members would simply do a good job, listen, act, make decisive changes, do it quickly.
They all know the issues, but have collectively done nothing.
If they continue to do nothing, then I would prefer to see them gone asap, as they're no use.
Thing is, who would RT employ to replace them. They're only going to give positions to more NFU 'yes' men. They're not going to want to give board positions to farmers who want to make RT voluntary.
Then there's the whole thing of processors and retailers having a majority. Even so, they could make RT voluntary if they thought it was good enough to stand on its own two feet...
...but they're scared feed mills won't be bothered about RT grain, but would in fact be content with safe and wholesome UK legislative standard grain.
A terrorist risk? What from . Dave in his tractor filled with excellent explosive cow sh!t…. I think he has realised those farmers that challenge him ( Clive, warks and ajd) aren’t straw chewing locals but very eloquent and passionate business menWhen is Guy Smith going then because he won’t answer questions and just says his family is at risk from a terrorist attack so he can’t say anything. Instead of providing reasoned answers, the tactic is to deflect and change the subject.I think he has realised those farmers that challenge him ( Clive, warks and ajd) aren’t straw chewing locals but very eloquent and passionate business men
Storey of his life!!!deflect rather than address the problem.
Crazy. Won't belong before he's gone either. Before you all get too excited I’ve heard a whisper of who Blenkys replacement is.
It will come as no surprise that it is a well known and long established senior NFU member. Possibly hand picked by …….
All rt is worried about is building there ‘brand’ the fact it has no value to the folks who pay them several million quid a year seems to have escaped there notice.Instead of providing reasoned answers, the tactic is to deflect and change the subject.
Seems to me RT and employees are lacking reasoned answers when challenged with difficult questions.
They can't explain why there are two different intake standards - one for UK farmers specifying RT, another for imports without any FA requirement.
They can't explain why RT/SQC etc grain is mandatory for supply to a mill for UK grain, when it is then blended into end product with non-assured imports.
They can't explain why the compound feed fed to RT animals must be made from RT grain (if UK grown). But RT livestock farmers can feed non-RT grain of it is home grown, home milled and home fed.
They admit grain grown to UK legislative standards is not unsafe to animals or the end consumer (as the home milling RT livestock farmer is self-feeding it), yet can't explain why this same grain isn't allowed in compound feed.
One word. Money.

The queen bee aka Minette Batters ( as she is now known in NFU circles ) cannot stand again for re-election as president can she? ( as this is her 2nd term )
Now that Roberts is not seeking re-election then either the other member of the NFU top team ( no idea who they are as they are that useless and unknown ) will become president or it will be someone that has no experience of being on the NFU top team.
So either way the NFU are going to be in one hell of a mess come next March onwards, either they have the current unknown person at the top as president or someone with no experience who will be backed up with at least another NFU top team member with no experience either................
And the fault for the above lies squarely with Minette batters aka the queen bee!
Well instead of throwing insults at me ( Typical of course from die hard NFU office/ex office holders like yourself and then you wonder why the NFU is losing grass roots farmer members in droves! ) why did you not just answer the genuine question i asked and which was: Can Minette stand again or not!You really want to check your facts and get out more.
Minette will have served two terms and CAN stand again for a third term in February but will have to secure the special majority as laid down in the constitution to be elected.
As for the “current unknown person” who is the third office holder that is Tom Bradshaw. He is well known and has made quite an impact in his first term. He is a very able person and asset to the organisation ……. It is VERY likely that he will ultimately be the successor of Minette.
The interesting question following Stuart’s decision not to stand is who is likely to stand for Vice President.
I didn’t think he was throwing insults? He was merely answering your post.Well instead of throwing insults at me ( Typical of course from die hard NFU office/ex office holders like yourself and then you wonder why the NFU is losing grass roots farmer members in droves! ) why did you not just answer the genuine question i asked and which was: Can Minette stand again or not!
As for Bradshaw, no one has heard of him outside the NFU, clearly unremarkable and not president material.
If his track record of the last 2 years is anything to go then electing him as president will be a big mistake for the NFU.
You think he is a good choice AN Gof but you need to look at the bigger picture and not just in the very small inward looking NFU circles.
