He didn't seem too phased about the people fighting back when there was mass marches against the wars.

He's yesterdays man, he can't bad talk the tories, as they're the same party now, as what his was.

He talks about bad decisions being the result of imperfect knowledge. He's right of course.
He can point to bad intelligence leading to the invasion of Iraq as living proof.
(Of course he can't really say that the intelligence wasn't actually bad in itself. It was just falsified by the Bush cabal in the WH and then used to suck those with special relationships into the war) You could indeed say the intel was fake news without a single liberal leftie in the WH:whistle:

Don't make him wrong about Brexit though (n)

Until the deal is done, and we know where we are, all of this is just opinion, and the definition of a 'bad brexit' will differ with everyone and seeing as Blair doesn't understand the general public anymore, he won't understand that things he thinks are bad, are good for them.

Abit like all the hysteria over Trump in the press, all the normal people think he's doing just fine, the creaking of public opinion might eventually, get represented in the media, the press are putting politician expectations on Trump, when he is not a politician.

This speech he's doing is a rehash of one he did before the referendum, seems pointless to me

i'll take a punt and say he's after some money and influence for an empty position to fight a phoney war on brexit, possibly to make a comeback to politics , picking up the remainers who want to vote lib dem, convince them he's a good guy after the iraq war and make a jump for coming back in the labour party

I've no idea what Blair is up to, seems pretty pointless raking it up again now, RMS Brextanic has already sailed.
Him and Alistair Campbell are living in a dream world, where they think if the media centre's around them like it used to, they can shift public opinion.

If Blair really wanted to be effective at taking the UK back into the EU he would become EU president and sort the sorry mess across the Channel out. The EU is an ungoverned mess . No borders Not enough employment not enough GDP too much fraud never getting accounts audited . I would love to see him in the job . His ego and intellect would both be tested .. Go for it tony your a visionary . If Europe could create employment with the same success as the UK we may never have left ..Deutsche bank .. it's going to blow after German elections .. enjoy tony . jtt

I would suggest that UK employment is because of the EU not despite it. However, when the Americans, Chinese and Europeans have picked over and bought the last few bargain assets the UK has left, we will all be left as tenants in our own country.

He cares about the country and wants to do whatever he can to save it from falling off a cliff?

We now seen to be moving into the era of celebrity political leaders were truth or reality don't rally matter so long as we get the message we want to hear. so Craig Revel Horwood, Mary Berry and Alan Sugar would have far more influence. Quite why the Remain camp didn't make more use of Sugar at the time is a mystery to me.

I guess that remainers everywhere are celebrating the former PM's involvement... not.

I agreed with everything he said, and most of the 48% will welcome his involvement. He is still head and shoulders statesman above anyone the labour party has to offer, and probably anyone in the tory party aswell. He would wipe the floor at the dispatch box against Teresa May any day of the week, and her front bench. He won 3 general elections outright, and would have won a forth if not for Gordon Brown. He got Iraq completely wrong, but it would have made no difference.Bush was going to go in,in any case,to "kick some ass" after 9/11.(he could hardly pick a fight with Saudi Arabia which is where it really came from) This is something May will find out in dealing with Trump or any other republicans. She has started off in the same way cosying up to Trump holding his hand even quicker than Blair with idiot Bush.

Hmm... no to everything except 'W' intending to go to war and his having won three GE's.
