BLYTHE you mean I take it ?

The village and the pub have always been spelled with a Y, it seems to have been changed quite recently to an I in the name of the river.

Catchment area means ' the area around a river that drains into'…. not a village or a pub.

The River Blythe is elsewhere. not the one mentioned by the OP.

You are correct that the catchment is that of the Blithe, however it runs through Blythe Bridge and the village of Blythe on its way into Blithfield Reservoir.

I would say most locals would spell it with a y.
