We had one was very fertile very easy calving quiet and he looked the business. But he never put a stamp on the calves and they were generaly allsorts very un uniform so we killed him. I would go for a limmy bull

I have 5 and a limmy have had them for years they are like any breed you get good and bad. Just because its a limmy or a blue or anything else, a bad bull is a bad bull. Would agree some can throw mixed colours and shapes but any can do that.

Father tried some years ago, he says best to stick to one or the other, problems he found was you get the gestation of a lim and the muscle of a blue which relates to a bad calving, but i supose it depends on what way the bull might throw, on lim x bb heifers id be more inclined to a pure lim, maybe a bb as second/3rd calvers

X-bred bulls can throw some extremely good calves but also some that are very average and variable. Best to stick to a purebred bull IMHO. Maybe a lim or a maternal breed on heifers and a BRB on the cows? .
