07 BMW X5 starting intermittently, weather warm no problem but once turns cooler it won't fire , press button and there is a delay before fires, put on a set of jump leads and it will start , battery has been changed any suggestions what could be problem , most of the wiring has been gone through and can't see anything, frustrating at the least any suggestions?

To be clear- is it cranking over and failing to catch or not turning over ?

The delay is normal as it waits for some glow plug action.

Turning over but they're is a delay between pushing button and engine turning over , once started it generally goes as normal on push of starter

Fan and alternator ? If so yes
It was something to do with battery cables and blower relays on my e90, went out one day and it wouldn't do anything, dash light would dim/go out, when pressing the button, anyway phoned the recall number explained the symptoms and they came the next day lifted the car and left my wife a brand new f30 for a week whilst hers was away.

DVLA Doesnt show all the recalls.. We have a knackered Cherokee that we keep having letters for a towbar recall. It's not on DVLA.

Better off using the recall checker on the BMW Site but you need the VIN
