Definitely Bomford. By the end of the day my arm/shoulder use to ache a lot with the oil joystick, after a week my shoulder was in agony. As for getting parts out of Spearhead.......... forget it!!

I’ve run both, spearhead are a capable machine but bomford has the edge in build and parts backup. Depends how much you are doing

Just using it for our own .the Bomford looks good but having digital controlls makes me wonder if it might be trouble as its a 03 machine so it’s already 16 years old .the spearhead is an 08 and just thought oil joystick may be less trouble as it gets older. I’ve had a go on a spearhead and thought the controlls ok but only had an hour on it. Going to pick up the spearhead tomorrow dealer letting us bring it home for a trial so will see if it works ok when it’s warmed up and working.must admit if I was buying new I’d have the Bomford

Well that was a waste of a morning.went to pickup the spearhead and not good it's been there 18 months and there's a pool of oil under the head motor.the 2 pipes to it have no rubber left and are rusty.the king post is badly cracked someone has tryed to weld it but not very well and has missed loads .maybe a good machine with some time and money spent on but it's still over priced and they knocked £1500 off already.so still looking.on the up side my nephew borrowed a tractor of us and it's come back with his hedger on so we can keep doing a bit

While looking at the spearhead the dealer also had a Bomford falcon 5.5 forward reach with cable controlls.looked really tidy.at the time we dismissed it because it was cable controlls and it looked very heavy.but now I’m starting to wonder would it be a bad machine I suppose the big thing is being cable it’s a large unit to mount in the cab with 6 levers is a right hand and will be going on a Massey 6465 so I can’t remove the arm rest to make more room.also has anyone got one of these and is it worth the extra weight
