Borders Disease

Can anyone tell me how long borders disease virus survives on pasture? I've just lost some rented land and now going to have to tup some ewes on a field that has had lambs on it all summer up until yesterday. we had minor outbreak of borders this last lambing and a bit worried some of the lambs that have been on this land could have been PI lambs, im going to wait until 31st to put ewes on to it with tup going following day.

It doesn't, it spreads through direct contact with a PI. Do you know where it originally came from?
that's a relief then and yes some absolute b*stard sold me some mule shearlings that were PIs last year thankfully only mixed with a handful of other ewes in the run up to lambing.
