Boris Johnson's running commentary.

How wise are Bojo's continued comments on Brexit? It's easy to dismiss him as a buffoon, but his interventions seem pretty damaging. Without a united front the government's position must be significantly weakened.

My view: He is not a buffon. He is a calculating individual. He is purposefully making interventions. I presume on behalf and to align with the true leavers within the Conservative Party and in the general public.

That'll be a minority then

I just noticed I called him after the Italian Goalkeeper. Was that Freudian - no idea. No idea if a minority or not. Just that for all is said about Boris, I consider he is calculating. And thus his comments in today's edition of The Sun would have been considered. Anyway further presume said on the eve of The Conservative conference for a reason. Hey ho.

Boris failed to calculate that Mr Gove would stab him in the back. Maybe he is calculating that somehow brexit would be better delivered if TM wasn't PM.

Boris Johnson's time has passed, and I suspect he knows it - hence the increasingly desperate attempts to rally support from hard-core 'leave' supporters before realisation of the complexity of Brexit becomes generalised.

He'll go down with the ship.

Deservedly so, given that he's a thoroughly nasty piece of work.

Well, having just read this morning Sunday Times article is appears he either wants to have a go for PM or get sacked so he can be a back bench MP to allow him to earn some money as he cannot make do on £141,000 salary.

Whenever I see Boris I have a mental picture of Troy in Far From The Madding Crowd.

At least Troy could dress smartly. Boris manages to make £2k suit look like an old potato sack.

Agree with your first part. But never the second bit. He is more like the old duffer getting drunk on route transporting Fannies coffin!

Currently we have articles in the media attempting to destroy Jacob Rees Mogg.

Prior to that we've seen the media attempt to destory Boris Johnson.

I've come to the conclusion that Boris's reputation has been and is actively being destroyed by those who are in fear.

I think I am correct most of you are remoaners. Most of you don't even LIVE in the UK.

@czechmate didn't vote in the EU referendum, employed Eastern European workers, left the UK for France yet denies even French culture by using a Czech passport ... you have a kneck posting on a forum for months being anti Brexit and calling others racist ... it's no wonder your "mates" gave you some verbal, zero loyalty, morals or grounding ... good riddance to bad rubbish. You'd have to be insane to think your ramblings were good advice for anyone unless they'd be willing to burn their life for a few pennies at the expense of others.

@Walterp an anti English and leftist spin artist ... quite happy to foist the mast of being Welsh but failing at every opportunity to help the cause of Welsh people who have lost their jobs due to EU policies ... because it doesn't affect him. Most normal people would at least understand what happens to a worker in Wales may well happen to them in Ireland, Scotland or England.

Pathetic.

Any of the expat farmers in my area do more for British exports than you have probably ever done in your entire life. The UK was built buy folk who got off their ar5es and went to work exploiting opportunities in other counties, not buy folk sitting at home and carping about them. And take it from me the UK is going to need folk who are prepared to go out and work and do deals overseas not sitting behind a big wall hoping the trade will just roll in, those days ended in the early 60's.

Why thank you. From you that is a fine compliment(y)
Just slightly confused, I don't see I've ever said I have a Cz passport as I do recal saying it's no more easy to get one than say a French or UK one and as a starting point you would have to live there for five years.

people slag off boris, but he won two terms as mayor in a labour centric city so must have done something right, we went to london in august for a few days, not been for 12 years and noticed a huge difference in public transport infrastructure which boris did. People have short memories 7 months ago corbyn was thought of as a joke, as farage said to the eu they arent laughing at him now, if any tory can get folks to vote blue its boris

Quite. I'm struggling to think of any politicians of the right calibre in ANY of the main parties at the moment.

IMO the Consevatives should start thinking a bit less of themselves and buckle down under TM and get on with the job of delivering a Brexit that doesn't ruin the country. The thought of Corbyn becoming PM at the same time as we exit Europe doesn't bear thinking about.

I don't understand how no deal brexit means no brexit?

If anybody needs sacking...... it's the wets..... starting with Hammond.
This is what we voted for. Our Government to get their fingers out and get on with working for the country.
They have their instructions from the electorate. Boris is reminding them.
Instead of fudgeing about, they need to get on with drawing up a plan to walk away with no deal, one minute past midnight. March 31st 2019 and present that to Barnier by the end of this year.
Then everybody knows where we stand at the very least.
It's not that difficult.
All they have to do is set the rules and conditions under which the real shakers and movers who do the work and trade have to work with.
