Looks like we have a voice in the Lords at least. The fact that he's a national hero also helps.
Clarkson is also passionate and popular, hopefully this is the year that the tide turns.

Very much doubt he will attend many sittings if at all.
You do know he mainly lives in either Australia or Portugal don’t you?

You do realise they do have Zoom in the HoL so it does not really matter were in the world he is so long as he can get connected.

If you really believe that Lord Botham can be bothered to Zoom (or any other mechanism) attendance at the HoL, then I tip my hat to you.

The whole thing has become not only bloated with over 800 M'luds & Ladies but something of a joke especially with the unadulterated cronyism of our Dear Leader.

I agree with a lot of what you're saying about the house of lords but you don't seem to like Botham much? if he can be bothered to comment in the paper it shouldn't be too much for him to log in to where he can actually make a difference.

Funnily enough @Raider112 , I spent a good hour or so chatting with him on the England tour to Pakistan in 1977-78 when he was just making his way in to the side. My mate's dad was a tobacco rep in Pak so they were part sponsoring the tour and I got invited to a Christmas party for the team at my mate's house. Personally, I liked John Lever best.
However, the biggest impression ITB made was the size of his arse. No wonder he could bowl at pace & swing and hit a ball miles. In fact, I watched open mouthed as he destroyed the Aussies in 1981 and later with his epic walks and indeed as a Sky cricket pundit, he talked a lot of sense.
All the above deeds were well worth his knighthood and Hurrah for that

However, can you honestly put your hand up and say that you were conscious of Lord B being at the forefront of banging the drum for Brexit? Because I can't and I certainly don't think that they were worth the elevation to the HoL and apart from field sports (esp shooting), sport and fine wine, I am not sure what he brings to the debate

Well he's got a column into the Tele so he at least has brought the current situation to the attention of a lot of newspaper readers, so he has brought publicity to the debate for a start !

Yes indeedy.....

Although it has to be born in mind that the Torygraph have form with employing blonde guest comment piece authors commonly known by an initial “B” to write something controversial
