Glad to hear that, Stewart Setter.

My main gripe with the net has always been its generally abundant lack of humour, in particular with the problem that irony don't travel too well.

Of course, The Farming Forum is an exception.

I totally agree, so much doom and gloom..
Eating food and drinking coffee got us through recession, humor will get us through Brexit :ROFLMAO:

Many thanks for posting up these cartoons - much appreciated. I must be cracking up as at first glance I thought it was the cadaver of Mrs Thatcher on the table - the pointed nose and blue attire, until I spotted the kitten shoes. But then I thought again maybe the cartoonist subtlety has introduced past ghosts into the debate.

Anyway all beyond my pay grade. Best wishes.

I doubt the comparison to Maggie Thatcher was unintentional.

She drove the UK away from a manufacturing economy towards the finance based tertiary service sector that has been so profitable for a few for so many years.

Unfortunately the UK now imports just about everything it needs to produce the small number of physical products that are still assembled here. We have to import nuclear knowledge when we once lead the world, we have to import the labour to pick our fruit because being on the dole for generations of the same family is now the norm for millions without any stigma or guilt.

I could go on, but it would be too depressing.

Hi, yes, I concluded the soon to be cadaver was a mimic of the Tory Party.

I am a little less negative to UKs manufacturing capability and actuality. My observation (readily open to criticism of it!) is that Parliament is now populated by non engineers / scientists. And this has led to a downgrading and less willingness to understand, assist and propel that sector of a broad based economy. Many a fine word spoken but not actual sensible mentoring from government. From education onwards - UK could have been the dominant financial services sector of Europe and a large / equal player as manufacturer. But it would require immigration.

As examples I cite the Japanese ambassador and a couple of other spokespeople I heard on the radio a few days ago - who praised the UK workforce - disappointed that it was a leave result but an element of pragmatism. Of course could have been fake words just to cover a tactical retreat in a few years post brexit day. Anyway little I can do about it.

Regards,
