The psychology of language and sentiment is I find interesting.

If the Labour Party had said 'we will organise for every person in UK 65million to plant 2 trees a year for twenty years' that would have been laughed at as too little, too late or similar. However, to come out with plant 1 billion trees before 2040 hits the headlines as being ambitious and bold.

Tree planters in Canada plant around 7,000 seedlings each per day and India managed to plant 50 million trees in a single day in 2016. So quite feasible, if the seedlings are available and they are managed properly after planting.

I wonder what that figure will be in 20 year's time?
It will probably be 85 million plus, possibly nearer 100, especially if you include the likes of the ones not counted in the official 65 million now!

I suppose in twenty years I will be doing my bit to help the numbers by departing this mortal coil although I would already have exceeded my allotted three score and ten.

My blocking machine with a 5 wide shoe will do 35000 per hour so the numbers there talking are very small for any commercial grower.
