British Farming Union on TFF

This just proves why we can’t have a ‘union’ run by farmers, nobody agrees, people have different opinions, somebody always knows better, a lot of jealousy - it’s like a playground 🫣

You can. You need to first of all find some common ground. You don't have to agree on everything, but if you can agree on some things (Red Tractor is a great example) then you have something to work on

Yes you were wrong wrong to make that disgusting comment, plus the further derogatory ones about his job etc . @Two Tone ,has written many , many posts on the forum, with shrewd insight into the practicalities and more , of arable farming etc.
Totally disrespectful comment to a respected member of the forum.

If you have nothing but derisory comments then don't bother, don't spoil it for others , thanks.

and don't reply or tag me again please.

You are throwing insults, I will throw them back lad. I suggest you grow a pair. You are achieving nothing more than highlighting how much you are up each other’s arseholes in ‘your plight’ against the organisations you joined, seems the truth hurts somewhat.

I’ve tried to read your messages and find out what you are trying to say.
Have to say I’ve drawn a blank.

I find the “ignore” facility very useful. ;)

Have a meeting with him coming up on the very subject.
It will take a super human effort from him to go against Madam President and her entrenched view. The new number 3 is fully on board with RT 🤦 so Tom could find himself in a difficult spot …..
I don't think Tom is afraid to rock the boat, but I don't know if this is that boat. We will see.

I am trying to wind ‘them’ up into saying something that engages with my desire to enhance my hobby profitability and sustain my hopes to continue farming my few acres in a business like manner.

Well done (y).

It's a poor show if NFU are happy to keep us all locked in RT when they know full well imports don't need to be in an equivalent scheme. Hope Tom has been allowed to help fix the injustice.

It''s up to NFU, AHDB, AIC, RT if they want to support RT for premium markets, but they MUST NOT deliberately make rules to force all producers to be in RT. I don't understand how they can't see - if it was optional (for grain), then it might actually attract a price premium, and some farmers might actually like RT. That said, they can work to bin off half the daft RT rules such as the H&S policy which Guy Smith said was a good idea. It's got nothing to do with food safety.

I chatted to Tom about the RT thing last year, I think the decision in their minds is if RT is better for us than any alternative (e.g. lab testing), better because RT gives access to all markets.

I've got a problem with that approach. It's not for NFU or AHDB to decide what's good for us, then force us in to it. It should be truly optional.

Assurance schemes didn't exist in other countries when RT was spawned. So there was no need for it. It has simply cost UK farmers lots of money. And what do they do? Tick a box to confirm you've got the NSTS test you're legally obligated to have for your sprayer. The AHDB digital passport could do that, in real time, and for free.
