British friesian bulls

Do you know I nearly put ps ignore the cake on the floor but thought nah no ones gonna take notice of that ;) 😂

My cows have been on a path of destruction. They've banged the feeders that much that the ring of steel the plastic pipes sit on have been ruined so the pipes pop off when the cows bang on the feeders leaving all the cake on the floor. Desperately need to get a guard rail put in front of the feeders. I've got a friend who's good at welding coming on Sunday to give me a hand hopefully

We had those atl feeders years ago ours beat them right off the wall. 🙈

they’re all the same way bred that’s the problem
Braveheart? Patriot red? Even benny red is a different pedigree

Chad x hylke was a golden cross, patriot onto them is working wonders for me here.

All of genus top 10 bulls have chad or jingle in them which is an issue imo

Gtw has too many faults imo, negative type, negative fertility, negative fat, lifespan is rubbish. I can cope with one or two faults especially if they're an outcross (eg braveheart with negative fertility) but 4 including negative fat makes him completely unusable imo

Brave heart has glenalbyn and hylke in his parents and grandparents pedigree, so does patriot is the same. Not sure how they’re outcrosses. This time last year everyone was going mad for him I was never keen but that’s why I asked.

His genomic proof was the perfect sort of bull to cross with Holsteins being high on milk and constituents but also shorter and wider, so will that have spoiled his proven proof?

2 bought in heifers, I was fairly happy that they would follow their maternal routes in terms of numbers, luckily I've been proven right.

From my experience he's worked ok on families with strong maternal routes like the Daphne's at inch, Jaynes from goonhilly, Pauline's from aintree etc, anything that's not as strong maternally he hasn't really helped.

If you were desperate for a half decent bulk whose a bit of an outcross and and are on a white water contract he'd be ok

Quite possibly but he's bounced around on his numbers ever since he was released. I didn't really trust him which is why I didn't go nuts and use him on everything

Some bulls stay solid as a rock others bounce up and down at each proof run
Seb, patriot and Jake have all been fairly stable whereas Dungannon, GTW, Benny red have been up and down like yoyos which imo makes them unreliable, I am using some limited Benny though.

Aren’t all these bulls up and down they all seem to change every proof run.

Jake hasn't really moved, or seh or patriot tbh

They'll always move a bit but certain bulls will always remain really stable based on family dynamics

Even with the base change this proof run Jake only dropped was it £10-20? So not even 10%
Patriot went up and so did Seb

It's the ones who go from £300+ down to below £200 in a couple of runs let alone a single run that are the dodgy ones
